My Own Perceptions




Science through data logging make it life better and interesting. Engage model is to interest or attract student what is actually the teacher teach. The questions in engage give student to think thus elicit their ideas about the experiment while the picture or diagram as a clue to give a student ideas.

Empower model is a planning and doing the experiment. The results automatically came out through the data logging. So, student just need analysis the data. I like the part of questions in discussion at empower. For me based on the questions, student was got the ideas to make the discussion. At the same time, they know what the experiment is about.

Enhance model is based on scenario in our life. I think, enhance model can help student more understand about the experiment. When a teacher shows some cases in our life, so student easy to understand because it maybe happened in their life. Moreover, student can apply what they learn in their life.

In implementing this model, overall is enjoy and more important it will elicit the ideas, thus make my work easy and quick. Sometimes, the model especially in enhance and empower model give me headache to think the questions.

Student usually face problems in doing the experiment such as error when take the measurement, hard to make the graph and etc but with data logging, it can make measurements to greater accuracy. It also allow the data to be analyzed much more easily than data collected 'by hand', graphs and tables of results can be produced automatically by the data logging software. Its easy right??? Simulation and modeling can be used as an effective means for teaching or demonstrating concepts to student. The graphic and animation show the behavior and relationship of all simulated system's components. Thereby, providing the student with a meaningful understanding of the system's nature.

In integrating the use of data logging, simulation and modeling is very suitable to use in classroom but the problem is when no feedback or respond from the student. Maybe have some student not interest about it, so they can't understand what the teacher teach. Other problem is no equipment of data logger at school. This maybe happen at rural area. So, teacher can't teach science through data logging.


To be a professional teacher, they should understand their students, what they wants, what they likes. So, in integrating the use of data logging, simulation and modeling in the classroom, teacher must know how to make these to be interest and attract the student to accept it. How to integrate the use of data logging, simulation and modeling in the classroom without the data logger? Even at rural area, government should allocate for school at rural area. So, teacher can help their student to use the technology in study.
